The Baton Rouge Area Directors of Volunteers in Agencies, or DOVIA, envisions a high quality of volunteer management and volunteerism at all levels and in all organizations throughout the community.
DOVIA provides networking opportunities for individuals in the nonprofit/public sector for the purpose of sharing knowledge, experiences and resources. Members share current information on trends and issues in volunteerism and volunteer management within the nonprofit/public sector at regularly scheduled meetings. These sessions may be workshop format or feature a speaker. Membership also offers:
- Opportunities for professional development
- Opportunities for mentoring to those who are new to this field
- An outlet to share organization information, career opportunities and events that will assist others in their personal and organizational planning efforts
